Meet Michael Crowe

I started growing mushrooms in my Phoenix garage back in 2006. What began as a hobby quickly became an obsession - I was fascinated by the science of mycology and the incredible diversity of fungi.

After over a decade of refining my techniques, I officially launched Southwest Mushrooms as a business in 2017. That garage operation has grown into a commercial facility producing over 1,500 pounds of fresh mushrooms every week. We've cultivated 35+ varieties, from common oysters to rare medicinal species.

Along the way, I started sharing my knowledge on YouTube. Today, with 181K+ subscribers, I've helped thousands of people start their own cultivation journeys - from first-time hobbyists to commercial growers.
